Actinomyces turicensis. Gram positive. Slow-growing. Filamentous. The organism that forms sulphur granules — those distinctive yellow clusters visible in actinomycosis tissue, the finding that makes the pathologist pause and look again.

The granules are not actually sulphur. They are the organism's own biofilm matrix, yellow-gold and structured, looking for all the world like something that should be growing in soil rather than soft tissue.

Reimagined here as a wildflower. Feathery, filament-like petals fanning into a spherical bloom. Honey-yellow granules clustered at the heart — organism-accurate, whether or not the illustration intended it. Slender twisted stems with microscopic texture. The sulphur granule made botanical.
